Walt Costilow

After actively participating in numerous art events through high school in New Orleans, Walt opted for a degree in engineering and the pursuit of an aviation career.  He became an aerospace engineer and military pilot.  During this time, he continued his interest in watercolor art as a hobby.  He continued learning through trial and error, and observing other artists' methods.  He completed numerous aviation works while flying in the Air Force.  After leaving military flying, he returned to the Birmingham area.  It was here that he studied watercolor painting with a successful local artist.

Walt is a Juried Member of the Watercolor Society of Alabama.  He is an Associate Member of the American Society of Aviation Artist, the Southern Watercolor Society and the Louisiana Watercolor Society.
